Lyke Wake Challenge

The Lyke Wake Challenge is an ultra-marathon which has traditionally taken place on or around the second Saturday in July. The 11th July 2026 will be the next running of the Lyke Wake Challenge, this will be entirely under the care of the Quakers Running Club. The race consists of a point to point route from Osmotherly [Sheepwash car park] to Ravenscar at The Raven Hall Hotel] passing through 7 checkpoints on the route of approximately 40 miles and is to be completed in no more than 12 hours. There is a restriction of 175 entrants and the start times range from 04:20 to 10:30 so the start will be spread over 5 hrs.
