Organisers Statement: 50 KM Out and Back trail run from Wanstead through the entire Epping Forest London Date: Saturday 3rd October 2026. Cut-off 9 Hours. Course Description: Starting in Wanstead the course is the majority of the well known Epping Forest Centenary walk (see LDWA website) through forests, parks and trails Course Navigation: At Wanstead you start in front of the Golden Fleece pub and make your way from the south-easterly point through to the north-westerly point. A small route through the A12 underpasses brings you onto the glorious trails at Whipps Cross and Gilberts Slade. Next you cross over the North Circular and marvel at just how green and lush it is so close to a busy A road. Head direct north and run close to River Ching and the start of the Epping Forest. Cross over to Butlers Retreat and turn right down towards Connaught Waters. There is a switch back to get you onto the Main Path which interweaves with the Green Ride all the way to the turn situated next to Epping Cricket Club (M25 is right below you)rnrn Here the route is most straight to the finish. All the small path switches will be marked clearly. A GPX route is available and all runners will be advised to download this onto their watches
